Parents Have Rights to Mediate Disputes Over Individualized Education Programs(IEPs)
Howard Mendelson • April 1, 2025
If there's a disputed issue with the child study team that can't be resolved at the IEP meeting, parents should understand that they have the right to mediate that matter. This would take place before anyone files a petition with the commissioner of education or an administrative law judge. Mediate, don't litigate these matters.
